The Prabodhan International Short Film Festival (PISFF) has been organized with the aim to provide a platform for Marathi filmmakers and talents from all over the country and around the world through the means of short films. Additionally, the festival is also intended to enrich the diaspora of Marathi short films by giving guidance on the production of short films as well as its marketing and participation in various international film festivals.
Over the last three months, this festival organized by Prabodhan Goregaon has received numerous entry submissions from filmmakers across Maharashtra who have sent in their short films for the first-year of PISFF. It has been delightful to see so many Marathi filmmakers taking part in our competition & festival. In addition to this overwhelming response, PISFF has also received a number of requests from filmmakers towards extension of entry deadline and relaxation of rules. We understand that it has been a difficult time over the last two years and filmmakers have faced several hardships in creating their films. Considering this, we are announcing some changes to our schedule and festival rules.
- First, we are extending our deadline for entry submission from 6th December, 2021 to 20th December, 2021. This gives all the filmmakers 15 additional days to finalise their short films and submit those short films to the Prabodhan International Short Film Festival.
- Secondly, we are also relaxing our rules to allow short films of up to 30 minutes of runtime to participate in the festival. Now, filmmakers whose short films were previously ineligible for the short film competition can also now participate and be eligible for our PISFF awards.
Both these changes are effective immediately. Speaking about these changes, the Festival Director of PISFF — Shri. Ashok Rane, said, “It’s good to see PISFF reaching the corners of Maharashtra and filmmakers from there wanting to participate in this festival along with others from major cities. I believe there is tremendous skillset hidden in the youth of Maharashtra, and PISFF is always happy to provide a platform to these talented filmmakers and to support & guide them in the future. With today’s announcements, we’re opening our doors to even more filmmakers to come be a part of this grand celebration of short films.”
